Group Affiliation
Sunday April 16th, 2023
In our social world, we have many affiliations, many connections. Our American society is often characterized as "joiners," hale fellow, well-met types. The extroverted person who moves about putting his fellows at ease with his social graces is often taken as an ideal sort of person. And, on one level, the race-psyche level, he certainly aids in harmonizing his fellows. This activity may be called "group affiliation" in the race psyche - on whatever particular level the harmonizing takes place, using whatever gunas (qualities of energy) are necessary to achieve the camaraderie that makes one feel he 'belongs.'
In our SNO, we also aspire to, or 'have' group affiliations. The method of affiliation, however, does not depend on someone else harmonizing one, making him feel comfortable by social amenities. We depend upon an individual contact with SNO Field-forces to polarize the student, to stimulate his recognition of his own True and Higher Self, to achieve that cherished harmony which makes it a joy to 'belong' to the group.
Those who recognize this contact within their own consciousness and defer to it, are members of the SNO group-field. Most of those who do so also formalize their allegiance and commitment by signing a membership form and working side by side to accomplish the goals described in our mission statement. Many students, who are not quite so clear inside of themselves as to their readiness for self-development through the SNO methodology, continue their association and their psychic groping, their psychic grouping, until they do find themselves. So, there are different kinds of groups within our group, different levels of affiliation and commitment.
...It gives us joy to be part of a group which honors and defers to the recognition of and cooperation with the individualizing process as the main aim and purpose of our group.
